We are drowning in plastic
Despite current effort it is estimated that 75 to 200 million tonnes of plastic is currently found in our oceans.
It is estimated that approximately a 1000 rivers are accountable for nearly 80 % of global annual riverine plastic emissions in to the oceans.
My wish is to draw people's attention to the problem of plastic pollution in our oceans. Simultaneously, I want to get as many people as possible to become part of the solution by recycling all plastic, as well as contributing financially to organisations that actively work to prevent pollution and to clean up our waters.
When a great amount of people contribute to negative developments, the problems that arise become extensive. Regrettably, we are already there, but we can reverse the trend – together we have the ability to make a difference.
